Having problems with my a4 2.0 fsi. I have a problem with the transmision range sensor which I have been told will probably need replacing which comes as a unit approx £600. My local garage has estimated the bill at £1250 and the bad news is that Audi will not cover it under the warranty because I cannot prove that the automatic transmission oil has been replaced at 40,000 miles. I have only had the car for 1 month and do not have any previous history with the car. The car is less than 3years old and has done less than 60000 miles. Is there anything I can do. The garage where I bought it from has sold me a very poor warranty with a claim limit of £250, yes I know I should have checked before agreeing to it but I simply trusted the salesman. Big mistake. Has anybody out there got any brilliant ideas? Much appreciated if you have.[:@]

 

Do it yourself for a lot less?? I dont know how easily accessible that sensor is though.
