Default Warranty direct-Buying a warranty on a used TT

Anyone have any experience with buying a warranty on a used TT? I have a 2004 w/60k miles. I received a quote from them for their The Powershield policy it is a 5year & 100,000 mile policy that will cover the transmission, the engine, drive axle, water pump, cv or u joints, timing belt and serpentine belt.

The cost is $1,971. They'll do 12 months no interest.

Anyone purchased a warranty like this?

warranties are like health insurance. they gladly take your money but when it comes time to pay up they will try to squirm out of it any way they can. powershield is from warrantydirect.
they are written so that it is difficult for you to file a claim. just save the money change your timing belt and look forward to about $1000 dollars of electronic devices per year needing to be replaced.

I had a aftermaket warranty. I got it for free, because the previous owner bought it and only used 1 of the 3 years.

While it worked, it was a hassle. Most of the time you had to pay out of pocket and wait for the warranty company to cut you a check.

I wouldn't do it. Unless your trans or something is ready to go.

Oh, yeah, and the warranty company hopes you crash your car.... your warranty is then void.

My car is an 04 with 60k and still has Audi assured warranty. Aftermarket warranties are usually bullshit. There are very few companies that are actually legit. Do your homework on the Internet. If there are complaints from car oweners, you'll find em. A warranty is a good idea. But be carfull.
