Default weight differences betwwen 1.8t and 2.8?

Tried searching. But does anyone know if there are any weight differences between the 99-00 1.8t and 2.8 quattro a4's? Real world numbers would be better than magazine numbers since they aren't really consistant. Thanks.

There really isin't a weight difference between the two...... If there is, the 2.8 might be a little heavier by about 100lbs or so.. It is marginal to say the least.........

that surprises me a bit. the 1.8T is an iron block engine, but so is the 2.8, isn't it? I guess the turbo and associated hardware (piping, intercooler) make up most of the difference.

It says 3241 for the quattro, which makes sense to me. I looked up the '98 and it is 3130 for the 1.8TQ, but Ive seen conflicting reports on the weights on the 97-99's on some sights. 98 V6 listed as 3318, so maybe they did add on some weight with the minor facelift they got in 2000, but 111 lb. difference for the 1.8TQ seems a little high.
