100 pounds lost will only gain you .1 of a second in the quarter mile unless the weight is shaved off the rotaional assembly which then you gain 2.75 hp for every pound lost.......so they say.

You are driving the wrong kind of car if you feel the need to start dismantling your car for fractions of fractions of a second faster track times. I hate to say it, but if you think the Audi is too heavy, you should have bought a civic. Its so depressing when people destroy the looks/feel/fabrication of what these cars are made up of for such minimal and trivialgains. If anything, lose the spare tire and sub box if its a track day or something.

So one of my friends who also drives an audi says that there is these huge rubber mat things on the inside panel of each door. He says by taking them out it would cut a few hundered pounds from the car. He also says the only purpose they serve is to reduce noise. Easy fix for that would be to dyno mat it. That stuff isn't that heavy. Just wondering your thoughts on that. Oh and anyone else have any ideas for weight reduction w/out gutting the whole interior? I still want it to look stock inside (Don't care about the trunk though.) Oh and our cars weight about 3500lbs right? Just wondering.

Josh
I am not wanting to do that. I am just wondering what i can do, if I can do anything at all with OUT taking the whole car apart. I think I said that earlier.

Josh

Oh and I never said i was actually going to take the stuff out of the doors. I was just seeing if anyone else had heard of that.
Oh and I love my Audi and would NEVER drive a civic!!!! So Please don't tell me that I am driving the wrong type of car.

I can't believe your trading in your car for a civic paintboy. How do you plan on trading it in with no interior or trunk liner and also it is illegal to sell a car without a spare. How could you......your fired.
