Something that is weird with my A4 when I start it is that every so often (Mostly on cold mornings) when I start my car I can hear a really weird gurgal noise coming from the engine compartment. Any ideas? It stops after the engine warms up though. Doesn't seem to affect anything either. Just wondering. Oh and also, I have a 1999.5 Audi 1.8T and I was wondering if you could put an ECU from a 2001 Audi A4 1.8T in my car? Becuase that would give you an extra 20hp right? Since the 2001 and on have 170hp while the earlier models have 150? Just wondering.

No you cant switch ECU's. You are drive by cable, 00+ is drive by wire. Dont know about the gurgling noise... Check your fluid levels.

 

air in the heater matrix bleed the system

 

i got the same noise every morning i start up. it only lasts 2-3 sec's, not a big deal. avant80@2.6 you said its air in the heater matrix? how do you bleed that?

 

put the heat on fill with the expansion cap off ( filler cap ) then let the coolant fan cut in and dont worry about the coolant overflowing because that's normal just refill when completed
