ok so i've had my a4 for about a month, and the other day i start her up, but have the stereo off, and i notice a really weird noise. i've never heard a noise like this before, maybe i'm just retarded, but i swear i hear a noise that seems to be coming from the console /dash. this noise sounds like a cross between an electric razor and static (think white noise), but not exactly.... any ideas to what it could be??

 

I think you might just be hearing the heater and AC system doing its lil thing

 

hi...i am a new guy here too...my car is an 03 3.0 quattro avant with bose stereo system and i have the same problem as you described above...i really wonder if the noise is coming from the in-dash 6 disc cd changer or some where below it...i have talked to the dealership about the problem and the guy told me that there could be a relay that is going out and could make the noise, but he needs to have his techs. to use the dealer equipped diagnostic computer to read the faulty codes in order to determine the problem...i need help here too!!!

 

no...it doesn't sound like an A/C noise. it happens when you turn the key to ON position(dash lights come on), and it continues to make the noise whether you have car running or not. eventually, it will stop after you shut the car off for about appox. 10 mins. i hope i can get some answers this time...doesn't anyone have seem this kind of problem? thanks for looking!!
