Default What Brand Control Arm Kit to Use???

I'm going to put in a control arm kit for the front. Looking around, I find FEBI or MYLE products. Does anyone have experience with either? Does anyone know who makes the OEM???? Any input in regards to what to use and where to get them the best is greatly appreciated.

i would not replace them with oem ones they will just fail sooner the aftermarket ones. go to www.ecstuning.com they have meyle control arms. seeing how old your car is i would get the whole kit including the upgraded tie rod ends. at first i only replaced my lower control arms. later that year uper ones started to go. all conrol arms will fail if you have the money replace them all at once. it will cost more now but going back to the shop cost more in labor. the kit is worth the money i have had them on for a year now and still feel solid.

control arms

btw there is also a recall on i belive lower control arms. if you call a dealer they have to replace them free.

Would you think that a 96 would still qualify for the recall?? both lower front foward have been already replaced.

There is no recall on control arms - but there is a service action for the "front lower" arms. Basically if they are bad they replace them, but they do not touch them if they look ok (whereas in a recall they would regardless)

I just saw a Ocap updated control arm kit on eBay for $425 complete with free shipping. I'm in the market too and there seems to be so many choices. I guess Ocap is a renown Italian company that supplies for big shot Maserati and Lamborghini. They also supply for BMW Volvo and others. The seller was blaufergnugeninc and they have full details on everything in the kit. I think I'm going to go with this one. It seems to be the best quality for the best price.

Ok I have nothing against ebay for certain things like my M3 lip spoiler or maybe some replacement crap like trim or a SS kit. But for control arms, there is no way I'd buy a control arm kit just to save $20-30. If you have problems with the kit, it'd be such a hassle. Besides which who the hell heard of Ocap? I don't care if they own Audi, I wouldn't use them over Meyle or Febi.

Buy brands that are proven and have been used by people on here. Reputation is key.
