proper respect to our BMW friends...

BMW car = bimmer (BIM'-mer)
BMW motorcycle = beemer/beamer (BEE'-mer)

i'm a current B6 owner, and a former E36 owner.

peace,
jbev
right you are...bmw car is bimmer...bmw moto is beemer...but i always thought a "beamer" is a laser like they use in star wars...i dont think it refers to a bmw but i could be wrong...i used to own an e46 and thats what i learned..

okay back to the topic....sometimes i dont gas it enough and so i'll launch it..if it's even considered a launch at like 1500rpms....is that bad? usually i'll try and launch it at 2000-2500rpms...but yeah..is launching it too low an rpm just as bad as launching it at a too high rpm?

In the UK we call all BMW's Beemers. Bimmers is what you call them if you happen to be 'in da hood' and your name resembles 'MC Ice T-bone' or something.
actually, Beemer is what you call a BMW car if you happen to be 'in da hood' and your name is "MC Ice Toffee" or something. [sm=nonono.gif]
go post that "Beemer" stuff on www.bimmerboard.com and see if you get the same explanation i gave.

if you prefer to act like an **** (is that what you say in the UK?!?), rather than learn something; well, mission accomplished!

peace,

STEVE36 i have seen the picture of your E36 several times now while reading this thread.. won't it be pretty pricey to do an "M3 overhaul"? would it make more sense to add the money you'd spend on that to the value of your car and try to buy something that has more stock performance? im not trying to "dis" on your efforts, im pro-modification..

I already have coilovers (read: better than stock M3 shocks/springs). I have a 3.23 LSD (read: m3 limited slip differential) coming soon. By the time I get M power under the hood, I'll have upgraded brakes, sways, 328/M3 cats, etc etc. Not to mention all the other mods done to my car so far. So I'll be able to the run with the Ms no problem. This is a project car, and I'll run this 2.5L into the ground and then start fresh with a 3.2L. Nothin like a good sleeper.

Yes sir.

Steve

EDIT: Now I'm thinking I may go custom for the LSD...but you get the idea. [sm=gears.gif]

OR you could just get a life? It was just a post, about what people I know in the UK call them. If you want to see that as a put down, then by all means, but do not become an **** and look like an utter *****.
Maybe YOU should not assume that every other country on the planet does things the same way as the US...

And you can shove the little [sm=nonono.gif] as far up your **** as you can get it...

Do you really get so offended by non-offensive posts often?

PS: We do call BMW's Beemers in the UK, as in my original post, so exactly who was wrong? In the US, you call them Bimmers, fair enough, but the UK is different... Bimmers only really got used IN THE UK after Beanie mans song. Now does that make sense to you, or shall I draw you a nice little crayon drawing?
