What do you make of this a4
hahahaha, i'm at a loss. I seriously need some buying advice! do you guys have any advice for bringing down the price on the car? I've brought it down 400 from his list so far - I feel it can go farther

I agree..in the last 3 months I have looked at a ton of a4's, and I wouldn't pay anymore than...6500, at the very very most..for that car, and that was only if it was in excellent condition with all service records included...
Thanks guys. I know that he has the maitenence records for the 3 months he's had it. He bought the car on ebay (reseller anyone?), and i'll have to ask if he has the records from NJ.
What are the key things i should tell the guy, considering I have to bring the price down another grand?

You should google the vin number...if it has been less than 90 days, you could look up the listing and see how much he paid. If you know what he paid and he's asking much more, you can use that as a bargaining point. I don't know how you could say this to the seller without alienating him, but he can't ask you to pay for the stereo equipment in the price of the car. Offer $6500 and see what he says. He may accept...if so, you got a good price...if not, oh, well, it wasn't that amazing anyway. I understand feeling pressured by your time constraints, but this is a huge purchase and it would be a big mistake to be overly hasty.
Time constrants can be a pain in the ***.....and not having a car to take to college for semester might be a pain too...but ending up with a peice of **** car that you have to drive for at least the next couple of years would be a lot worse..take your time and find the right car, at the right price, even if it means waiting a while. i mean unless you have a ton of $ to dump into making repairs..
I went back and had a second look at the origional A4 from the top of my thread, and it makes me even more confused. If I were able to, say, get the price down to 5,500 - would it be worth it?
man that car is beautiful, but yet , if the timing belt wasnt changed twice , MAKE SURE YOU DO IT , do not wait it out, you will fuxor your whole car........been there done that...buy the car
