I did an oil change by myself a month ago when the meter was 98,000miles, now it is 100,500 miles, and there is a "service oil" blinking on the lower right corner every time I start my car. Is it just an automatic reminder for every 10,000 miles or is it something seriously wrong? I am a little concerned. If it is just reminder, wher can I turn it off?
Also the stereo is not working now, not reading any CD I put in, always gives "Error", so I assume the 6-CD changer is dead. Does anybody knows how much it costs to replace the CD chnager? Any good shop to recommend near san francisco?

when you changed your oil, did you reset the service light? because there is usually a light that just reminds you to change your oil, and if its been 7,000 miles its time to do it again, so its just telling you. usually you want to change oil every 3000-5000 miles

The place you got your oil changed more than likely did not know how to reset interval if it was not an Audi dealer. Or if you did it yourself, self explanitory. The link tells how to reset. Peace!

 

have you tried a CD cleaner?

 

yeah my service oil light came on at about 3k miles past my last one. i guess the jiffy lube didnt reset the switch for me. i thought it was weird that it didnt come on the first 5k miles i had the car, the it comes on only 3k after the change.

 

Service oil means that you need to ask your oil if it's feeling ok and that you should buy it some flowers

 

take your oil's temp and see if its sick...

its probably set at certain intervals and you happened to do it before it went off.... just reset it
