what should i do if i loose my tranny?
i have 2001 tip a4, have some mods and looking to put more, i know the automatic tranny does not hold power like the manual does. what should i do if i loose my transmission? anyone has done manuall conversen, and if i buy a manual tranny used will it be cheaper? thank you i cant sell my car because then i have to deal with a stock car again.. dont wanna start over...+ i luv my car
I noticed you sig says you still need to upgrade your exhaust - tip exhaust and 5-spd exhaust is different. You'd also need a new ECU for the swap.
You can easily swap the evo intake over to a new car, same with the wheels, 710n, boost gauge, and its easy to paint calipers. That means that if you were to buy a new car (5-spd) if your tranny craps out, you would loose the mintex pads - which are a wear item,m3 spoiler, and tint.
I could see a swap if you had some serious modifications already installed, but at this point I'd say its more worth it to put the car back to stock and sell it. Maybe you could work out a deal with APR where they unflash/unchip your ECU and then they reflash/rechip the new car as soon as you get it.

If it were me, id sell it and find a manual. No point/cost effectivnessin converting and not much fun having an automatic with all that power, even if the tranny CAN handle it with an upgrade.
