Do I have to buy this at a dealer, or are there parts stores that carry it?

Thanks

Depends on how long you want to wait.

ECS tuning sells it as do many euro parts stores. Check the list at the top of the forum for links.

To my surprise my NAPA auto had 2 cans on the shelf. You arent going to find this at autozone or Pepboys.

the real question is why are you low on fluid? Where is the leak?

Mine is leaking where the rubber hose meets to the steel line. Need to push the hose further on the line, but it has been too gd cold to do it.
I called my local NAPA for G12 antifreeze and they thought I was speaking another language.

Why can't you use generic power steering fluid????

If it's how I think it is and it utilizes the same type of rack and pump as the 944, you can use ATF. Yes, automatic transmission fluid. But I could be completely wrong. I used ATF in place of PSF in both my Porsche and Saab.

This car is probably designed much differently.

You can't use ATF and you cant use "power steering fluid". They will cause the seals to swell, and you will likely need a new rack (Can you say 1500 dollars?)

Yeah!!!

It is very important to use the 20 bucks a liter fluid. But it is cheaper than replacing other parts of the system. Ha ha the guy who owned my car before me learned that one.
