what year to get?
ok I posted about buying a 1997 a few days ago and you guys told me not to get it if I want a reliable car. But then I see people saying that getting a 2001 or so is great. What year did Audi start making a good car? If I get a 1999 or 2000 will it be a reliable car or do I need to go newer yet?
Sounds like you got your mind set on an audi, I don't blame you. As you already may know, the less mileage the less worn parts and more reliable it is, so you generally wanna go for a later model year. I don't own multiple year audis so I can't really answer your question, but I feel audis have always been very good cars. The best advice I can give you is, if your gonna buy a used car have a mechanic friend (who knows what hes doing) go with you, try to get one with less miles, and get a 2.8. I know the 1.8 guys will definitely disagree, but I say the less moving parts the better, you could write a book on the blown turbo stories out there. Just my opinion.
