whatcha think?
First time posting here, to make things short I was recently in a rear end accident and my car was totalled so I'm looking into Audi's since thats what I've always wanted.
I checked out a car yesterday and wanted ya'lls opinions on it.
Specs:
2002 A4 1.8T Quattro
5 speed
41,000 miles
It has the 17" wheels on it so I'm guessing it's the sports package
Gray leather
Condition I would put it as Fair. Has some scratches here and there but nothing horrible.
NO HID's
Price: 15,900.
After talking with the guy at the place for a logn time, the lowest he would go is 15,500.
After taxes it would be around 16,600 or so.
Take it or leave it?

RE: whatcha think?
leave it, the 2002 1.8T have alot of problems since thats the first year that they came out. my friend recently bought a 2003 a4 3.0 for 20k out the door with 36k miles on it. black on black in MINT condition, no scratches or anything like that. so keep looking and good luck!

I don't think I've seen "alot" of posts of people who own '02 1.8Ts who report having "alot of problems". The only problems I know of AND are even of any significance are the lower control arms and peeling buttons on controls. Now granted, most first year production cars do have problems..some more than others, but in the B6, an insignificant amount.

RE: whatcha think?
pass on that bro. you can get a lot for your money. my buddy just got an 04S4 for around 28 off ebay. now I know thats a lot more but it shows that there are deals out there but you have to look. the fact that there are scratches and stuff makes me think the previous owner didnt take care of it. for that money you should be getting a car in perfect condition.
keep looking you'll know when the right one comes.

This is taken straight from NADA business:
for 15,500, your getting the car right below trade in value. If he bites for 14,500, your getting a great deal, but as far as the 15,500, its not bad.
Take it !!
