wheel spacers on stock wheels
would this be ok to do? i'm considering getting some 12mm wheel spacers, just to bring the wheels out to match up better with the fender. what would be the downfalls of doing this?
i wouldn't suggest spacers on our cars for a couple of reasons:
1) our cars are a bit heavier than normal, and the spacers will allow a wider wheelbase. the spacers will not be welded together with the rims so that leaves room for the spacers to shift under the cars weight (heavy turns, hard breaking, etc..), which over time, could result in poor alignment or worse.
2)the wheels on that car were designed to have a 35mm offset. if you add spacers you are essentially making the wheel with a smaller offset, perform the job of a wider wheel (bigger offset). this could again cause alignment or tire wear problems in the future.
my suggestion is either get some wheels with the offset your looking for, or 'luv the ones yer with' ------- otherwise you are asking for trouble.[sm=signs003.gif]
