Which size spacers for stock et45 wheels?

Which size spacers for stock et45 wheels?
I have the 17" stock wheels, (04 A6 w/ sport suspension) and after having to fork over $5500 to Uncle Sam for my tax bill, there goes my plans for my new wheels, tires, and Koni/eibach kit....
So in the meantime, I was considering spacers for the stockers to fill out the stance a bit until I replenish the car fund
So, with an et of 45, should I go 8, 10 or 15? I was looking at the ECS or H&R kits. With the 15's, would that essentially make them sit equal to the RS6 wheels with an et30?
Any input is appreciated!
