Default Wheel weight at 25lbs each too much?

Looking to dump my AvantGarde 17" wheels ofwhich two are bent. Rather than repair themI found on EBAY the OEM RS4 Hypersport wheels. These wheels weigh 25lbs each. They look pretty good and certainly can't beat the price...I think.

Issue I had with my current 17"s was weight. High performance wheels seemed to slow my car compared to stock.
Opinions please. Thanks in advance.

the lighter the alloy and the lower the profile only means 2 things to me,

1. bling effect
2. when you curb it you loose it and the tyre

I have 18in versions of those and they are definately really heavy.. but for cruizin around town they are fine. I have 16's with victoracers when I want to go fast..

You can notice a difference in hp. but I went from 15's to 18's...

the lighter they are the faster your car will be. but the lighter they are the more likely they are to bend

There's definitely a tradeoff there. I've spent"n" number of dollars for more HP then lose those gains in heavy wheels not to mention the weight of the Stereo system I've just installed.
Good point about the bend factor with lighter wheels although the wheels I have are heavy and bent.

25 lbs is a lot of weight to spin up every time you accelerate. My 15" wheels are 13.5 lbs each. they make a big difference in my low hp car.
