I actually leave mine in neutrel all the time too just because I don't have a turbo timer and I sit in my car and wait for about a minute before I turn it off he!! even if I did have a turbo timer I couldn't leave it in gear

 

I worked for a valet company during college, and I had a guys new wrx sti when they first came out park with me he had a short throw on and i parked it and just left it in gear, a few minutes later as i am standing in the resteraunt i see his car rolling down the street. That thing came out of gear and started moving. Luckily the place was kind of in a valley so all it did was roll 10 yards and then come back but man i was scared. Just picture a little guy about 130# trying to stop a wrx rolling down the road. I know its an old post but thaugh you may get a laugh.

No, somehow he didnt see. It was summer and I could see him on the patio. I think I would have noticed a guy in a bright red shirt getting pushed by a bright blue car down the street maybe 50 feet away but all the stars were in a row that day.

 

Thats what handbrakes are for!

 

Throw it in first and pull the e-brake every time...better safe than sorry. But that's just me.

 

I always use the e-brake. My grandad told me along time ago, the transmission is not a kickstand, and it just kinda stuck.
