when u guys say... "lift ur car".. how do i do that?

UR not talking about the jack that comes with the car do you?
i need to get at my power steering and coolant.. what is the cheapest "Lift" or Jack that i can get?
i need portability also.. dont have a garage..

Well, you could get a hydraulic jack, or jack stands. Personally I have ramps. Welcome to the forums! Hope you find it helpful.

Yeah, ramps would probably be the best for you if you just plan on doing some general maintenance work, but if you are going to be doing anything that requires taking off the wheels, I would go for the jack stands. They are still relatively light (as opposed to a 1/4 or 1/2 ton jack) and very portable.

As norcaltrojan has said, if you only plan on changing your oil and minor stuff like that, buy ramps. If you plan on doing anything else involving removing wheels (brakes) go for a hydraulic lift, jack stands and some tire chokes.

You really don't need to spend money on tire chokes though. A nice 4x4 piece of wood'll do the trick, and you get one of those for free. Hell you could even just look for a chopped piece of firewood, it really doesn't matter, you just need something to ensure that your car doesn't decide to start rolling away when it's jacked up.
