I just looked at my spare tire for the first time and descovered it is not a full size spare. I always thought Audi used a full size spare in the A4 and up. Am I wrong? Did they go to this after certain MY years? I have a 99

 

it should be a full size spare the only Audi's I know of that don't use full size or inflaitable tires are the TT and a6 avant

 

my 2000 A4 avant is not a full sized spare, nor was my 98.5 sedan A4.

 

o yes sorry we didn't get the A4 Avant in Canada till 2002 so i am unsure on that one but sedan up here all came with full size spares maybe the american standards are different I don't know

 

My UK 96 saloon has an alloy spare, dad's '98 A6 Avant has one to.

Maybe it's a later car thing.

 

shrug - I do know some people with 99's that had full sized spare. Maybe it was an option down here.

 

if im not mistaken it is only available in the 2000.5 and up that the reg sized tire comes in it bc i have a 01 and it has a stock tire in it. thats what the dealer told me when i bought my car

 

my 2004 came with a full size spare....

 

my 97 came wit a steel donut wrapped in ruber
