Okay...long story short....ahole ex-bf drove my 2005.5 A4 1.8 for two years. I was driving his 06 Acura TL until it was repossesed out from under me (*****...pay the bill, will ya!!).

So i take back my car and it is running sluggish as hell. He had been using 87 gas. I have been using premium for 30 days now...question is: how long will it take my baby to get back to peak performance? Should i be doing anything else?

Oh, BTW, he wore the brakes out on it too.....there is another 500bux i have to spend!!!

Hey guys, give the person a break.

You will be fine in a tank or two. The bigger problem could come from using cheap gas that contains the minimum amount of detergents. You might want to throw some Techron or Redline fuel injector cleaner in the next tank in case he cheaped out on brand too.

run some seafoam through the tank and do a TBA (throttle body alignment)


also going from an acura TL to a a4 stock....well its going to seem slow, cause it is!

 

He sounds Cheap! If he could not make his car payment what makes you think he would put the better gas in? Does he tell you to know what you want before you open the fridge so you dont let the cold out?

All in all the car should be fine! Seafoam and you should be good!
