will a watterauer chip from a 97 a4 work on my 99.5 a4, both are 1.8t .

 

what transmission do you have? what transmission does the 97 have? if they're both manuals, I see no reason why it won't work. both cars are DBC.

 

You can reprogram the ecu for a different tranny with vag com. I have read that wett chips are not very aggressive compared to the competition, but i have no personal experience so im not sure. They arent popular, thats for sure. If you can get it cheap then Id say go for it.
