hello folks...need some help.

i was visiting my girlfriend's brother (in another city), and when I was rolling down his front passenger window...i heard a crack, and then the window pretty much came loose and wanted to free fall into the door.

I'm going back to visit next month...and was wondering if anyone knows what part i can buy?
would like to bring it up there to fix it for him.

i don't know how similar the window retract assembly is to BMW's...but am i looking to replace a plastic window regulator/slider?

That happened with my VW GTI VR6. It's probably the same thing that happened to me. It's the plastic piece that holds the window onto the track and it's cheap. It was covered under our warranty and they replaced it with a metal piece. I'm not sure what the part was exactly?? It's a cheap fix though.

I had this happen to my Father-in-Law's Cadillac. I called him from the dealership, after buying the part, and told him it was "one-fifty-nine", to which he answered, "that much, eh?"

"No," I said... "One DOLLAR and Fifty-Nine CENTS!"
