Winter Tires
I love badass snow tires!
I bought another set of stock 16" alum 8 spoke rims for winter tires and they happened to have Dunlop Winter Sports on them so I'm running them for this winter.
So far not bad for a tread pattern that's not too aggressive and makes no noise so I would say the all wheel drive is bailing me out.
Bought a set of Pacemark's from Sam's Club to put on a Camry and yes they are very aggressive and howl like the mud tires on my old 4x4....they are studable as well.
I took the Camry out today in a Noreaster and the tires are unbelieveable!...I wish I had a set on the old B5!
What are you guy's running for snow tires?

Cool hiwords!
Check out Craigs List, there's Audi wheels on there all the time.
I was going to use 15' Speedlinesoff a mid 90's A6 with wheels that looked simmilar to my 16's and I have 15" PowerKings that I intended to use off my old Beretta, but as it turned out I found identical rims with tires.
Also, I don't know where you located but there's an Audi junk yard in Concord NHthat has wheels at a decent price. www.Force5auto.com

There's a brand of tire called Green Diamond that you can check out. I'm going to buy a set for next winter once I have my OEM wheels off the car this spring and new 18s on it. They're designed in Canada and Iceland (two places that know a thing or two about winter driving), and they're incredible. They have a very aggressive snow tread, but they have carbide teeth embedded in the compound that give you unreal grip, especially on ice. I rode in a car that had them on, and we were on an icy road. Pulled to a stop like it was summertime, which was my undoing, because I got out and immediately fell on my ***. The nice thing about them is that they're not like studded tires that clatter and tear up the asphalt (which means they're legal in NY), and they can be run year-round if you desire (I wouldn't waste them in the summer though). The only place I know of in the northeast that deals in them is OShea's Tires in Cortland, NY. Combine the grip with the price (I was quoted $85 each for 205-55-16), and I can't see a better winter tire out there.
I don't run winter tires I just get really good all seasons. Originally I was going to get Continental ContiExtreme Contacts but they were "special order" at town fair tire so all the free stuff wasn't included. Instead I got toyo versado lx's which are supposed to be very good also but not quite as agressive tread. I got a good deal on them also, paid $110 per tire and normally their $150-160 per tire. Their getting put on tomorrow so i'll let you know how they are in the snow.
UpstateNY,
Sound like a pretty wild tire with "depleated uranium" studs inbedded into the tire.....HaHa!
Sounds like they based the tire from a Carbide studed track on a snowmobile....I got to see a pic of that!
Viper,
I don't know how muchsnow you get where you live but I'd like to hear how you made out once you get them on.

I live in Marblehead MA which is just north of Boston. Right now we have over a foot on the ground and this winter is looking good for lots of snow. I drive up to Maine for skiing so theres usually lots of snow up there and hopefully i'll be going to college in Maine. I'll post how they are tomorrow when I get them.
