Hi All,
I have a 99 A4 Tdi Avant which has just developed a wiper problem. The wipers don't stop when I turn them off. I have to go to the intermittant setting and turn it off to get them to stop (sometimes). Do I need to replace the motor or is there a fix I can use.

 

could be the switch or relay, i really have no idea but ill bump for auditech

 

Its more than likely the switch, if it parks in the correct location on the windshield in intermittent mode, but not when you turn the switch to off, the switch is probably internally shorted.
Its a very difficult electrical system to diagnose because the wiring is so complex on our wiper systems.
I would say replacing your switch is your best bet, if that doesn't fix it then replace the motor assembly.
