I'll check the HP number before and after. I'm making it myself so I can always take it off.I'll let you know tho. I mean I don't have much HP to lose anyways haha.

you are correct....... to a point,but most people run such small intercoolers, that they can't get rid of the heat...
a good heat shield will make upm for a lower quality intercooler

Heatsoak is when the intercooler is overwhelmed by heat from the turbo. A good intercooler should counter this.
The heat underthe hood is so minor when compared to the heat from the turbo that the air has to pass through before making it to the intake mani.

heatshield really wont do anything on a forced induction car since the intake air is compressed and therefore heated before it goes to the cylinders, thats why we have IC's, to cool the air back down
so getting a heatshield would mean you are spending money to cool down air only to have it get heated again.

that is a horrible explanation that doesn't even make sense. im sorry, but it doesn't..makes some sense, but poorlogic...
basically, if you have ANY engine, and ANYtype ofmods(especially a cone filter), then YES! get a heatshield. period..unless you have a true cold air intake.. and what does a "ture" cold air intake come with?.... a heatshield

If you had a turbo car that has a BT on the stock side mount then YES! If you have a FMIC on a k03/k04 then NO!actually you wouldstill want one, cause granted you have an fmic the heatsoak you get will make your gains unnoticable
If you have a BT and a FMIC then get water injection

and yes, the intake charge is pressurized to a certain PSI by the turbo, which is what causes the heat in the intake charge. but come on, you can not tell me that lowering the temperature air that goes into the turbo does not help. it helped on my k03 setup, and now it helps on my BT setup.. im not just going off of common sense. but real world experience here

All high hp turbo cars use a thing called a FMIC it takes the hot air and cooles it down before it makes it's way to the intake. If you think the hot air under the hood is bad just hhink how much hotter it is after it passes through the turbo.
Bottom line IF you have a good intercooler and or water injection you have no use for a lil heat shield period!

yes, but all forces acting together will yield a lower IAT.. the heatshield is not as important as the intercooler, or WMI (if you also have that). but of coarse it still does it's part.
