I think its a cool thing... And I know it works for you, and others. What I dont understand about it is- What about adjustments to timing? The diodetricks the ecu into thinking its only seeing 11 psi, then you use a MBC to turn the boost up to around 17psi or whatever, ecu will adapt for fueling, but what adjusts timing to make the added boost/fuel actually useful and safe? I understand the ecu will adapt, but it can only adapt so much. Has anyone ever done a dyno run with the diode mod? Would be great to start a sticky here about it though... Im sure someone will do it and actually go get dyno'd and have fuel trim/timing/boost log charts to post.
Do you have a local A4 in mind for a donor?? If not, I know a guy in Columbus who would be down.

I havemybrother's'03 passat 1.8t that has been running it for ~6mos now and loves every min of it. I was going to get detailed pics of the install and post a how to. There is a dyno on my thread in sig for any intersested. It made 200whp with just an exhaust i do believe. I'm taking apart his engine today to replace a valve cover and cam gasket, so if i have time ill take plenty of pics.

I wish I had a car with a MAP sensor.[X(][>:]

Is there any other way of doing something similar to a pre 00 car?

So i finished the diode mod. Which was easy (cept my saudering skills were rusty) and the turn out is pretty good. I don't have a boost controller i'm just running off the n75h which is pretty good. before ipeaking at .6 bar and holding .4 bar. now i'm peaking at .9 and holding .8bar. also i'm holding my peak boost longer. overall it feals good and only cost me $3

simple enough right? For the a4 with smaller injectors i would use a 4bar regardless to make sure a/f are in check. ANyone confirm? Jetta/gti/TT180's are 317cc and a4/passats 28xcc?
