Default yall wont believe this

So last night i went out to my car to go to dinner after not driving the car all day. I went to unlock the doors and nothing happened. i thought "thats weird" . so i manually unlock the door and notice that the date, time, etc. are not lit up. still confused i put my foot on the clutch to turn it over and my feet are about 4 inches deep in water, but only on the drivers side. i flip out for a little bit, try to mop up as much as i can, adn end up taking my sisters car to eat. well when i get back and really get a change to poke around i decide to open the ECU box. Its completely filled to the top with standing water and all the excess was pouring into the cab throught the firewall where the wires run from the bock of the box. I was able to jump the car but it obviously wasnt running well and would not hold a charge. I took out the ECU and numerous other fuses that were submerged. it did rain a little hard that night but i have driven in the rain probably hundreds of times with no signs of this. the worst part is im supposed to drive back to Austin from Houston bc school starts up monday, but theres no chance of that. the car is CPO, will this be covered????

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

That sucks man. Hopefully it will be covered. I'm sure if you can prove that it was a faulty seal that caused it, you'd probably be covered, but they may still give you trouble and try to get out of it. Main thing is to let it all dry out REALLY well (maybe use a hair dryer to help it along) before you try and run the car again. Electronics can get wet and be OK - they have to be dry to be powered up though, or you can short it all out.

A faulty seal can result in all that water inthe floor and ECU box? When I read the post my thoughts were either water came in from the bottom up, or someone took a hose and forced water in somewhere.

there was a guy that had the same problem. his solution was cleaning around the battery area.

Man, that sucks! Definitely dry it out completely before trying to run it.

it could be the sunroof drain, I think I remember someone sometime having this problem and that being the culprit, either way that sucks man.

Did you have your windshield replaced recently?? I work for a glass replacement shop, and I do see this happen due to a poor install by the technician.

No windsheild replacement.

I was not the sunroof drain. there was no water anywhere other than in the ECU box and everythig that could have gotten wet when the water spilled over where the wires run from the back of the ecu to the dash. i can reach back behind the pedels, into the fuse box area, and all the way under the dash area and its all soaked. At night pop your hoods and have a flashlight inside the car shining up by the pedals with the ECU open and you will see how it copuld get through. Its going in monday to Audi in Houston , but my mom is responsible since im in Austin and that has me a little worried.
