Default 01 A6 Parktronic Help

Good Day, All:

I've got a fun one. Well, ok, it's not that fun.

The car: 01 A6 2.7T.
The gotcha: The Parktronic doesn't work. It makes the nice "Beeeeeep" when I put it in reverse, but I get nothing on the display. Hooked up the Vag-Com (gawd, that thing is great), and it informs me that the drivers side sensor is faulted. I checked the wiring and couldn't find a thing wrong, so I assume the sensor has gone south.

So, where can I find a replacement sensor (I know I can to the Stealership, but I'd prefer not to), and how on earth do I go about changing it?

Thanks!

It has "Parktronic"? Is that something that can be turned on and off? I've never gotten a beep and I did "nudge" a car behind me yesterday.

The Parktronic (or should we properly say: Acoustic Parking Assist System) system was an option on the 01' A6. I believe you got it if you purchased the Nav package (the expensive little bastard that was). It's easy to tell if you have the system: look at the rear bumper. If there are 4 circles about 1" in diameter running down the horizontal midline of the bumper, you have it. Those are the acoustic transcievers. No circles = no parktronic.
