Default 2000 A6 Check engine light

Hey everyone. New 2000 Audi A6 2.7T owner here from phila area.

Issue:
Check engine light came on shortly after I bought the car used from a dealer.

I had a diagnostic run on the engine, and it gave me emissions codes 1411 and 1423, and I was was told that this may be an issue with the secondary air flow sensor for cold starts. The garage said that they would have to take the top of the engine apart to get to the area that allows them to do point testing for a more accurate diagnosis. Does anyone know if/where I can find a listing of these codes and what they may mean?? Has anyone had a similar issue, and if so, what did the check engine code mean?? Were the consequences costly??

Other Issue:
I just had my two front rotors and all brakepads replaced due to the brake sensor warning. I got after market German soft allow brakes (comparable to what was on the vehicle originally) and had to have the rotors replaced due to a lip that had formed on them during wear, they were too thin to machine down. I had all this done for about $660. Did I get ripped off??

Any advice comments would be appreciated.

I'm planning to buy sport rotors and performance pads for all four wheels and I figure it's going to cost me about $500 for parts. I wouldn't say you got ripped off because it's understood that you pay a lot for service, but I wouldn't say you got a bargain either...

dph138 here again.

About my check engine light issue...I took my A6 to an Audi dealer today to have the problem diagnosed, not fixed. Apparently a secondary air pump, used for cold starts has shorted itself out due to both air flow valves being stuck open. Condensation built up inside the pump due to the stuck valves, which is giving me the emissions code/check engine light. The dealer said it would be $1500.00 to replace the pump, so I am going to get a second opinion.

Does anybody have info or experience on this problem??

Thanks in advance.
