Exclamation 2000 A6 hood and grille question

After about 10 hours on the road home from vacation in Colorado, a deer the size of an elephant fell from the sky and ate my hood, bumper, right fender, headlight, and front passenger door. The insurance company totalled it out and I bought it back as a little shop project since the damage is all cosmetic.

My question is... Since I'm replacing the hood and bumper, what would it take to put the hood and grille of the next generation a6 on my car? I have the older style 2000 a6 where the grille is fully enclosed in the hood and I'm looking to upgrade the front end to a 2002 hood and grille if the parts are compatable. Has anyone done this? Any help would be appreciated!

Now I have never done this... but it looks like your hood and bumper have small differences from a 2002

Fender look identical, Id bring photos to match bolt holes, but It looks like they will fit.

Thanks for the input. I actually found a guy on one of the VW forums who has done this mod with his 99 2.8 A6. He has assured me the fenders I have will work for the facelift. I'm searching for parts now, will post pics and process when project is under way.

I think you will need new headlights... 02 and up headlights are different than 01 and down. So a new hood, a bumper and a set of headlights would work.
