Hi. That last CEL code (1337) means "Camshaft Position Sensor, Bank 1 Short to ground". I would check to make sure that your wiring harness that plugs into the camshaft position sensor is not loose. Also check for any wire which may have been stretched or possibly pulled loose.

Kimi, it is your lucky week. I say you go buy a lotto ticket. Anyways, I second TwinTurboC5's suggestion.

terminal 1)red +ve
2)green 0
3)black ground
firstly using a multimeter, with harness still connected to sensor and while cranking the engine, voltage activity was messured b/w terminal 1 and 2 which demonstrated activity.next with harness still connected voltage was measured on each terminal.
observation:terminals
1)battery similler volt
2)no volt measured
3)no volt measured
next i unplucked the harness, with ignition on i messured the voltage in all 3 terminals.observation: terminals
1)battery similler volt
2)maximum volt was measured (whats the significans?)
3)no volt measured
can you suggest any from these readings? i honestly cant make anything out of them

Kimi, Let me preface by saying that I am not an electricalexpert, nor do I have a clear idea of how the cam sensor works. But from my experience, 3 lead sensors always do similar thing. One lead for power, another for ground and the last for actual signal. So in this case, you have red for power, black for ground, and green for signal. As for the green signal wire, I think it is suppose to work while the engine is running. It should sense the rotation of the cam and check the signal against other input related to the timing. Voltage should vary.

Interesting observation is that you are not getting any voltage on the ground wire. You should get approximately 12V. I would get a strand of wire, connect to the negative feed of the sensor, and ground it directly to the chassis. If you are still reading 0V, then you know that your sensor is bad. If you get 12V, then I would trace the harness wire and see if there is a short somewhere.

Kimi, try to manually ground terminal 3 with a strand of wire directly to the chassis. Your haness should be plugged in while doing this. If there is no voltage on the line, then I suspect it is the sensor.

thanx hxgaser. i can't explain why the code keeps changing, its now p1338 bank1 short to +ve from p1337 short to -ve 200miles earlier. i did try manuvaring the plug. should i just go ahead and change the CMP sensor?
