Both codes are for bank 1 sensor. So giggling, cleaning, and reconnecting the passenger side sensor does not fix the problem, then I say replace the sensor. But before you do, you can try to take out the sensor, blow some compressed air through the back and replace to see if it works. I had weird cases like that where little moisture got into electrical component and shorted things out.

If it still doesn't work, then I say replace it. About $150 from a dealer, $90 on the web or $35 on ebay.

thanx very much hxgaser, ordered the part from egermanparts.com hoping to get it soon. in the mean time im trying to use the car as little as possible cauz i do not know what to make of this. i cant remember haven figited with this sensor before the timing job, so right now im still quite skeptical if the job was done right even though the specific tools where used. may i ask if you are a mechanic or you just enjoying playing with cars?

I am just a weekend mechanic if you ask. I imagine you are one too? I have been playing with cars for awhile now. I used to not like working on newer cars, but now that I figured out that computers are your friend, not enemy, I actually like working on them. You know, a trouble code can only be related to a specific list of possible causes... Heck it tells you what's wrong! Not to mention $130 shop rate on these things...

I really think it is the sensor related. If the timing was off, then it should give you a different code.

Damn... that sucks... Let me ask you a question.

Did you properly tensions the timing belt by torquing the tensioner?

yes, i actually did preload the tensioner to maybe more than required, but did release it before tightening the cam gears was this the right move?

I would manually reset the code. If it comes back, then only thing that I can think of is to do the timing belt again. Lock the crank at TDC, lock the cam bar, loosen the gears and torque the belt. If I remember correctly, it should be 35 Nm and there is no need to over torque. (Check the book for the torque value though) And when I did mine, I replaced the tensioner for a peace of mind. Hope it works out.

did change the tensioner, tensioner lever, and pulleys.may be i will go ahead and redo the timing, this time i will maintain the torgue on the tensioner simultaniously while tightening the cam gears.thanx again for your great contribution you have been of tremendous assistance to me.
