2000 Quattro 2.8l (A6 C5) - Battery Drain / Electrical Problem ?
My battery is getting drained to the point it will not start, if the car stands longer than 14 hours. I finally replaced the battery under warranty, but still appear to have a parasitic drain on the battery.
Have a few questions:
1. What is a normal range for milliamp draw on a 2000 2.8l Quattro with no aftermarket mods and no CD changer?
2. IF all the fuses were pulled individually and the drain stayed at .16 amps (160 milliamps) what else might be causing the drain?
3. Is there another fuse panel somewhere or set of relays not controlled by the fuse panel that could be pulled & checked?
4. Is the keyless entry & alarm system controlled through the drivers side dash fuse panel?
5. How would I tell if I have a problem with frayed wires to the starter?
6. There are two wires coming of the positive terminal of the battery, one thick black one and one smaller red wire. What is the smaller red wire going to?
Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated!
