2001 2.7t a6 high intensity xenon not working
noticed a few days ago my passenger side lamp was really dimmer than usual...finally today its not working at all...jus the yellow side lamp is on...does the whole light need to be replaced? is it just a bulb? or dirty connection possibly?
first you need to find out if its a bad ballast or bulb which you can do by swapping the ballast from the working headlight to rule that out. Most likely you need a new bulb which you will probably want to get a pair so they match.
I replaced the driverside on mine. The bulb was $80 and since that didn't fix it, I replaced the ballast that I bought on ebay for $110. Audi wanted $505 just for the ballast alone. Do not touch the bulb what ever you do.
The bulb is looks like this:

As to the ballast, it made by Hella Germany. Like this:

Good luck.
Bradw got a great deal on his parts. In case you aren't so lucky the price off our website for the OEM parts for the bulb N10445701 is 120.00, ballast 4B0941471D is 405.00 dollars. Any questions please let us know.
