2001 A6 Quattro 4.2 Front end jumping
Hi, I just installed a used motor into my recently purchased Audi. I bought the car because it needed a motor and I got it for a fair price. After installing the new (used) motor,I notice that the car is jumping when I let my foot off the brake and I have to give it a little aceeleration for it to even move. The car has sat for roughly a year. Could this issue be related to the sensors having some rust or needing to be relearned? I havent tried to drive it any further than just out of my garage and back in as im not sure if it is a wise thing to do? I lost about a 1/3 of a quart of tranny fluid, could this be the cause? The car almost seemed to jerk as it was moving like there was something sticking. I did replace the front brakes before moving the car as well. I hope that this is enough info to get somewhere with this, thanks in advance for any information. Nick

Jack it up and make sure each wheel spins free. If not, check the brakes as one could be hng up. owever, that should not cause the front end to jump. Incorrect installation of something, like an axle shaft, would be a more probable cause. Again, jack it up, spin the wheels and see what happens.
Good luck,
Bob
