2001 a6 quattro oil sensor

Good Luck
I had a problem with the low oil pressure warning light coming on - hoped it was the switch.
I asked the same question, when no none replyed I started my in car search.
It is actually behind the oil filter housing, very difficult to see.
I jacked the front way up and could just see the wire going to it.
Remove the oil filter and while you may not see it, you can reach in to disconnect the wire (push down on tab and pull)
From there you can get a deep socket on it (21mm I believe).
Break it loose and remove by hand.
Reverse for install.
It did the trick for me, no more flashing lights and sounds
Good Luck

Dealer = $$$
I got mine from the dealer for $30.38.
You can get one from RockAuto.com for as low as $3.41, however I would go with the $9.40 one made by Beck/Arnley.
I think you can also find them at Pep boys and Autozone.
Once you get it, check the socket size.
I assume you won't pull it until you get a replacement, it makes a mess when you drive without it

Go with the dealer
That's a better price than I paid.
I bought the Audi part because I thought it would be better quality...
However, my son reminded me that the OEM one failed, maybe I should get another manufacturer... Good Point!
I just wasn't sure which aftermarket ones would be coming from China.
I thought I would stick with the German product (I'm hoping they're not made in China also)
Good luck
