Hi all, new to the forms and first post here.

A/c won't blow cold on my 02 a6 3.0.

Low and high pressure sides are fine as well as no leaks.
When turning ac on, the compressor kicks on for a few seconds (clicks & rpms go up) then it shuts off and then kicks back on 5 seconds later and then shuts off. Continuously going through this cycle. And I swear it gets cold sometimes while driving (although I don't know if this is just the fan blowing and my perception.

Anyways, the car is at a shop that specializes in vws/audis and they say I need a new compressor/ac overhaul, $1015 bucks.

I recently had a new radiator and fan installed (the car was parked for a month before) and also fixed the temp sensor that sits in front of the radiator (it was cut). Pretty sure ac worked before this. It was spring can't remember 100 percent.

Any ideas on what the issue could be? I am convinced that the compressor isn't shot like they say since Ive heard it click. Any way to test it?
