just bought my 2002 a6 3.0 cvt. i know i pussed out with the superchargeless fwd cvt engine. I picked it up for 19.5k with 24k miles. the warranty runs out next month. any suggestions or things I need to look out for or get done.

also any advise on a extended warranty? how are these private companys?

I just purhcase the Audi Pure Protection Platinum coverage from the dealer. Adds on another 3 years of coverage for me up to 100k. I originally checked out aftermarket warranty companies, but it appears that they only pay the "book" hours for repairs vs. "actual" for repairs, while the Pure Protection wil pay whatever the labor involved to fix the problem. THat way, if the dealer or independent shop takes longer than book, I am not stuck paying the difference. Price was not that bad, competitive rate for a good warranty. FYI - the Platinum coverage basically mirrors the original factory warranty, with very limited exclusions. Most things excluded by aftermarket warranties are covered here.
