2002 A6 engine noise
I recently had my torque converter replaced, and when I got the car back the engine sounds like there is a playing card stuck in the spokes of a bicycle...I took it back to the dealer, but they said it was just timing noise and they all did that. It gets really annoying because it sounds worse when stepping on the gas, but fades away when at a constant speed. Is there a fix for this, or is this really normal. I'm sure it wasn't there when I bought the car because when I picked it up after the service I heard it as soon as I started it and made a comment. Since then I have went back and test driven one of their other cars and it didn't make any noise at all..what gives...any advice
I just purchased a a6 2003 with 60k miles (quattro 3.0L). It also makes a clicking valve sound from the head of the engine. I asked an audi specialist about it and asked if I can get a valve adjustment. There is no such thing as valve adjustments for my car. It is self adjustable. So I am wondering if it can self adjust to stop making all that clicking noise.
