2004 A6 2.7 Automatic transmission slipping
My car has 133,000 miles on it and over the past 2 months have found an occasional slipping of the engagement when shifting in tiptronic mode. I use tiptronic virtually all the time so changed to the automatic mode to see if it would help. It did for a day or two but slipped the other day when it shifted gears while applying a modest amount of acceleration. I'm going to have the transmission fluid changed this week but am wondering if anyone knows what could be the problem and if it is a common issue. This is my 4th Audi and the first non-manual transmission I've owned. Bought it with 10K in 2006 and never abused it.
If anyone can provide good advice it would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you.

Update on my transmission. I took my car to European Performance at 77 Wabash in Clifton, NJ on Tuesday. After 2-1\2 hours the transmission was cool enough to check it out. Fluid was not dark so it was good news. No damage to my transmission, whew! It needed 1 quart of fluid to fill. I was told that I caught it in time. The longer I would have waited, the more likely I would have had to replace my transmission. Fortunately, that was not the case so I don't need to fork over $6,000 to put a deposit towards a 3 year lease. The guys there are fantastic. My friend Scott has been going there for years. They are very honest, responsive, and very fare price wise. I happened to have a meeting in the center of town that day so they drove me 6 miles there and picked me up after the service was completed. How nice was that? I think they deserve at least 5 stars for an excellent performance!
