slipping clutch .. slipping no more...
okay... clutch was slipping a while ago when i would change the APR setting to 93 octane mode and do a WOT pull from low rpms in 3rd gear.. i shelled out 600 bucks for a southbend kevlar disc and a RS4 pressure plate.. not 2 days after i got all my parts in and was prepping for installation, mysteriously, the clutch would no longer slip... and it hasnt since... i was wondering what could be the cause of this?? right before the symtoms started i spent some major time installing valve cover gaskets/camshaft adjuster seals... a lot of oil and degreaser went down the back of the engine possibly into the transmission clutch pressure plate area.. my question is .. has anyone had a clutch slip due to the exact issues that i stated?? im thinking it slipped for a while until the contamination was burnt off or something.. but im not sure.. just wanted to hear another opinion...
what about in a 98 A8? I have heard several complaints about slipping with these transmission but have also heard of a lot of different fixes. My started slipping in reverse then all gears,,,,,replaced filter (clogged up) and new trans fluid. Ran great, still does, but now no reverse again.
