2004 A6 3.0 Quattro - considering purchase, need advice
Hi everyone. Great to see such a good forum here.
I am in the need for a used car, as I am currently on a Saab Aero lease that comes up at the end of February. I figure I can spend up to about 20k on a car, and really like the styling and features of the A6. It seems, from Autotrader and various other listings, that I can get a certified 2004 A6 3.0 Quattro for within my price range.
What do I need to be careful with when considering this model? Are there things I should check, or at the very least, put aside some money for future maintenance? It seems like a lot of car for the money, so I'm wondering if I'm missing that these models have some costly latent defect. Or, if you think I've made a good decision - or should be considering another model - let me know!
Thanks for any assistance. Also, if you have had good experiences with any dealers in the NYC region, please let me know as well. Happy holidays.

RE: 2004 A6 3.0 Quattro - considering purchase, need advice
i have a 2002 a6 3.0, and the engine isn't the fastest, but it gets the job done and is very realiable. from my personal experiences i have not had any problems with my car, i did have to get a new fuel, oxygen sensor last month though, it was still underwarrenty.
if your considering an audi you have to get quattro, thats one of the things that makes an audi an audi. fwd is jerky, (i have it) my pa who has a 2007 a6 has quattro and it is amazing. so so so smooth
