My sunroof drain is leaking on the front passenger side. It looks like I have to drop the headliner and remove trim on right side by the windshield. Any info on how this is done would be greatly appreciated. Any photos or links would be great.

Before you do that try blowing some air through the tube located in the passenger door frame near the hinges.

If you have been there done that I would suggest you get a copy of the manual. www.bentleypublishers.com (an absolute must if you own this car and plan to keep it) You need to disconnect the battery, remove the center, side and upper pillar trim, (where the air bags are located) It is not hard there are only a few screws and then they clip in but you really need to see the pictures, torx drivers, patients and a few hours of time. If you can't afford the manual right now let me know I'll try to post some of the pictures there's about 40 of them though.

I would keep some hand cleaner around to try and keep the parts from getting all marked up with finger prints, easier said than done.

 

Thanks for the reply. If you can post some pictures that would be great. I will buy the manual you suggest. My problem is it is pouring in New York and I have to try and fix car asap. I am worried about the side airbags. I will disconnect the battery for sure. I also poured water into the drain at the sunroof and I can see water leaking on right side by pillar area. I removed the transmission computer from under carpet and left it above the well so it stays dry until I fix the leak. Also so I can still use the car.

Are you positive the drain is the problem?

There is also a drain under the battery that plus up and you will notice standing water in the battery area. Itr over flows comes in through the firewall.

I had a problem with the plastic trim piece at the bottom of the windshield water was getting behind it and leaking into my cabin air filter and soaking the passenger floor.

 

I know about the drain under battery tray. I cleaned it out. I also check the shield at the bottom of the windshield. It is in place. I am pretty certain the sunroof drain is the problem.

Let me know if you need anything else, The handles are basic pull them down from the upper pillar and pop the screw cap open with a thin screw driver or pick. All of the other stuff seemed basic too.
