Default 2007 A6 3.2T Quattro In Limp Mode But Not Moving In Reverse

Hey guys I'm brand new to this site and figured I'd give it a shot. I have had 3 A4's, I love Audi's. My current car is a 2014 A4 B8.5. I have some good knowledge with Audi's but only the A4's and the 1.8T & 2.0T quattros. Yesterday 1/15/21, I purchased a 2006 A6 3.2T that is currently in Limp Mode. Car drives fine in drive and changes gears and goes into reverse but when you press on the gas, the car doesn't move like its stuck in neutral or the e-brake is on. I can hear the gear catch but it just doesn't go back. I bought it from my friend and he said he bought a new transmission and the shop he brought it to when they installed it and went to program the ECU they programmed the V8 transmission and not the V6. Not sure how true that is but anyways, seeing if anyone has any tips or advice. Car has low miles and interior and exterior are in great shape and would love to fix this thing.
