Just wondering if I can use these tires on the stock sport 17inch rims on a 2001 4.2 or whether they'll be too narrow. The tires I have now are 255/40/17. I was selecting some winters on tiretrends.com and the form picked 235/45/17 as the size for my car. I tried searching and all I could find was a post where a guy said the dealer told him the only sizes you could use are 255/40/17 or the stock 16inch size.

 

235/45/17 is still a wide tyre so I don't see any problems with that
