Default 4.2 Cylinder Head Removal Help Needed

The car has a blown head gasket.
I just started the tear down process on a 2005 A6 4.2.
I have never worked on this engine, and need some guidance on the cylinder head removal.
Apparently there is no timing belt.
Can anyone with experience tell me how the timing is set up?
Does it have pushrods?
I'm stuck.....Thanks in advance.

The car has overhead cams driven by timing chains at the rear of the engine. As we told you in the other forum, the engine needs to come out and the timing chains need to be removed to pull the heads. The images in this document may help you understand what you are getting into.
