4.2 issues
I have an '02 4.2l with sports pack with just over 50k miles.Car is serviced regularly and drives 32 miles round trip per day in Seattle stop-n-go traffic.Recently, some odd quirks have started show themselves.
When gassing from a complete stop or from a slow roll, the car revs to about 4500 RPM but gains little to no speed. I can let my foot off the gas, then apply pressure again and the car takes off as normal. When in 3rd gear and accelerating at speeds between 50-70 MPH, the car hesitates ever so slightly. A minor jerking motion..shift to 4th or 5th and its gone
Could it be as simple asnew fluids, filters, plugs and trans service? Could it be as bad as me trading my Audi for a civic? (I'm kidding!)

RE: 4.2 issues
the lower end stuff happened to me when I had a faulty brake switch. almost like you had to shift with the gas pedal. it threw a sig up wi the abs sometims lighting up as well as the traction. 50K would be early for a timing belt. They might let it fall under warranty if you have a major issue and you know the service guys well.
