Whooaaa.........proceed only with extreme caution. This firm is well known in the 928 community. I don't want to stray into rumor mongering or hearsay, so I won't get into the nasty details....

One of the European firms, MTM or Abt, developed a 4.2 supercharger, complete with upgraded injectors and fuel management.

Seriously though, these 4.2L have an 11:1 compression ratio stock. Unless someone is going for a full rebuild and installing lower compression pistons, you aren't going to get much boost without severe detonation. Would really be balancing on the razors edge, even if a lot of timing was pulled out through aftermarket ECU.

I suggest you just Google "motodyne" and read the links in various forums to judge for yourself. From what I've read, they do not have the best reputation out there. It isbest to do your own research just as you would anything that you are going to spend money on.

they have a bad rep for both customer service and parts. I rember a few years ago someone had one of there superchargers on there car and they ended up making less than stock hp on the dyno.

modifying your car is more than hardware without proper tuning you are just asking for trouble

That price is outrageous. Those Lysholm/auto rotor mechanisms they are using can be had for less than $2k. Their intake manifold, fuel system, and chips can't possibly be worth $7k. This is just a terrible attempt to rape a quality auto for all its worth because Audi drivers are known for being well off. This blower is actually a wonderfully blower. I had an Autorotor 3150 on my Lincoln Mark VIII and made in the area of 500+ hp. The problem as mentioned before is the compression ratio of these motors. Recommended compression ratios for a boosted motor are 8.5:1 to 9.5:1. I think blowing something that is 11:1 compression would either require pulling ALOT of timing to avoid pinging and detonation, or some serious high test gasoline. I would never consider less than 93 octane in that vehicle, and I would think 101 would be the way to go.
