Default 95 A6Q Water inside vehicle

I know I've seen several posts on this topiuc but can't seem to locate this particular issue so please bear with one more question on this topic. Wife has 95 A6Q with sunroof, and on several occasions this month she's noticed a large pool of water in passenger side rear footwell. I've checked the 2 forward sunroof drains by pouring water down them and they are draining fine. Are there additional drains that I'm missing? This has been the wettest May on record in my area and obviously is contributing to this issue. Thanks for tolerating another question on this and any suggestions anyone has.

Default Had the same issue

And I went too long before taking care of it! I would get in my car after it rained and pull forward... and water would dump everywhere! I did the same thing as you... I put a funnel in the front weep holes and poured water. They drained just fine.

I do think there is weep holes in the back but it would involve removing the sunroof. I know I didnt want to do that.

What I did was try to recondition the sunroof seal. Look and see if the seal has a gap in the back.. mine did and I used a small amount of clear sealant (Another guy did it for me to be honest while he was replacing my ECU)

With all the water I was getting in the car.. it burned the ECU out and the car would not start. I did get a new one (used one from EBAY actually) and since they sealed the gap and used whatever they did to recondition the sunroof gasket the car has been dry... and we have had plenty of rain lately too!

Before I had the car towed to the garage... I had TONS of water behind the passenger seat just like you. They said they used a shopvac and took out over a gallon of water. Damn.

Good luck!

I believe a worn seal is why I have water int he Audi - 95 A6 base. The car is usually parked facing up on an incline. I have made sure many times that all the drains are clear, and they are.

I don't know about 95, but my 02 has 4 sunroof drains: 2 front & 2 back.

I was digging around in the shop manual and the car, and did fine there are 4, and certainly seem to be clear.
The hose in the left rear is connected - I couldn't get it to budge reaching in without taking down the entire headliner.
But Ill find a cable maybe to pass through.

I filled the crevice around the sunroof with petroleum jelly - should be water tight I hope, and easier to clean up than tape residue!

Default Rear drains openings are covered by rear bumper

and to clear blockage have a cable inserts from the opening until it comes out from the rear of sunroof.

I had this problem with my old 2000 Jetta for a while. I finally figured it out. I checked under the cowl and the drains there were clogged with debris, somehow the water was overflowing from there into the car. Sounds weird but it worked.
